  • Food Distribution
    • Twice a week, weather permitting, the Pantry is open to provide food to families. The majorith of the nn-perishable food distributed by the Pantry comes from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Additionally, food contributions are also received from local grocers, growers and individual donors.
  • Clothing Distribution
    • Twice a week, weather permitting, the Pantry is open for community residents to receive clothing.  Most of the clothing distributed by the Pantry comes from local citizenry donations.

Volunteers from throughout the state have been helping on the cleanup of the "old bank building and company store" located at the corners of White Avenue and Main Street.  The work has been amazing; but more is to be done.  Cleanup will continue this Saturday, October 1, 2016.  We will begin at 10am.  Lunch will be provided to all who assist.  Hope you can help!  If nothing more, come see the progress being made.

Nicholas County Starting Points,  Parents As Teachers, The Nicholas County Empowerment Corporation and the  Richwood Pantry, collectively have started the process of relocating to 44 East Main Street, Richwood, WV.  Our goal is to complete this relocation within the next 30-45 days.

This is a HUGE undertaking.  Our first task is to clean the buildings of debris.  We NEED VOLUNTEERS to help with this task.    We are starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2016.  Even if you can only help a couple hours, it will be greatly appreciated.

The Nicholas County Empowerment Corporation will be providing Lunch to all that can help.  This is the first step in getting The Pantry and the Nicholas County Child Care Center fully operational.  For more information, please contact Marla Short or Nicholas County Starting Points staff at 304-846-4479.
